Dell Secure Exchange consists of Dell PowerEdge servers, PowerVault storage, Dell/EMC storage and Symantec Mail Security 8200 Series, Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange, Symantec Enterprise Vault, and Backup Exec.
The package, which can be used to do antivirus checking of e-mail, is combined with archiving and retrieval. E-mails are archived on the Dell PowerVault storage and protected using Symantec's Backup Exec. Larger customers can store and archive their data on Dell/EMC Clariion storage subsystems. The Symantec Mail Security 8200 Series appliance provides antivirus and antispam protection.
The package is intended for companies with 500 to 2,000 mailboxes.
It starts at US$54,700 for a 500-seat modular backup-and-recovery package, including Dell PowerEdge 1950 servers, a PowerVault 110T and M1000, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Symantec Backup Exec. Secure Exchange will be soft by Dell and supported by Dell and Symantec.

Dell and Symantec on Wednesday rolled out a hardware/software package for controlling, archiving and securely managing Microsoft Exchange e-mail environments in small and midsize businesses.
